Quick start
- Paste this where the widget should appear:
<!-- Blue Seas Fishing — AI fish ID widget --> <div class="bsf-fish-id" data-height="640"></div> <script src="https://www.blueseasfishing.com/assets/js/bsf-fish-id-widget.js" defer></script>
- That's it. The snippet renders an iframe to our hosted identifier; results open species pages on our site in a new tab.
Options
| Attribute | Default | Description |
|---|---|---|
data-height | 640 | Initial iframe height in px. The iframe auto-grows to fit results (max 4000 px). |
data-target (soon) | — | Reserved: deep-link results to your own species pages. |
Good to know
- Who it's for: fishing blogs, charter and guide sites, tackle shops, clubs and forums. Please don't resell it as your own product.
- Quota: your visitors share the standard free quota (3 IDs/day per visitor), enforced per IP — the same fair-use limits as the main tool.
- Attribution: keep the "Powered by Blue Seas Fishing" line in the widget; that's the whole price.
- Privacy: uploads go to our API over HTTPS, processed for identification only, never published without permission. The widget sets no tracking cookies of its own.
FAQ
Does it cost anything?
No. The widget is free with attribution. Heavy-traffic sites (100k+ monthly widget loads) should contact us for a dedicated quota.
Can I style it?
Yes — the iframe container accepts your CSS (width, borders, radius). The tool UI itself is hosted with us so improvements roll out to every embed automatically.
Does it work on mobile?
Yes — it's responsive. On phones, tapping the upload box lets visitors choose to snap a picture with the camera or pick an existing photo from their library.
Will it slow my page down?
The loader script is ~1 KB and the iframe is lazy-loaded only when scrolled near.
Want the identifier on every page instead?
